Step-Up SIP Calculator
Your income usually rises every year; most people's SIP does not. A step-up (or top-up) SIP raises the instalment automatically each year — often by roughly the size of an annual increment. Small as it looks month to month, over fifteen or twenty years it usually matters more than chasing a slightly better fund.

What this calculator assumes
- The instalment rises once every twelve months, on the anniversary of the first one.
- The step-up percentage compounds — a 10% step-up on ₹10,000 gives ₹11,000, then ₹12,100, and so on.
- The return you enter is a steady annual rate compounded monthly, and no charges or taxes are deducted.

Questions people ask us about this
How much should I step up by?
A common choice is 5% to 10% a year, which most people can absorb out of a normal increment. Pick a figure you can keep to in a bad year, not the one that makes this page look best.
Is a step-up automatic?
It can be. Most fund houses accept a top-up SIP instruction at the time of registration, so the increase happens without you doing anything. It can also be done manually each year if you would rather decide afresh.
