Calculators

Run the numbers before you commit to anything

Twelve free calculators for the things people actually ask us about — a SIP, a loan instalment, a fixed deposit, how much life cover a family needs, how large a retirement corpus has to be. Every one of them states what it assumed to reach its answer.

How to use them

A calculator is a starting point, not a decision

These tools do arithmetic on the numbers you type. Used well, they turn a vague worry into a specific figure you can act on. Used badly, they turn an optimistic assumption into false confidence.

Run the pessimistic case too

Whatever return you assumed, run it again two or three percentage points lower. If the plan only works at the optimistic rate, it is not a plan — it is a hope.

Never plan in today's prices

A goal that costs ₹20 lakh today will cost considerably more by the time you get there. Every calculator here that deals with a future goal inflates it for exactly this reason.

Nothing here deducts tax or charges

Expense ratios, exit loads, stamp duty, TDS and capital gains tax all reduce what actually reaches your hand. The figures shown are gross, and we will tell you what applies to your case.

Match the money to the timeline

Money needed inside three years does not belong in equity, whatever the expected return looks like. A calculator cannot make that judgement for you.

Your numbers stay on your device

Every calculation runs in your browser. Nothing you type into a calculator is sent to us, stored or logged — the only details that reach us are the ones you deliberately put in an enquiry form.

Then check it with a person

Send us what you worked out. Naveen Kumar Pandey will tell you honestly whether it holds up, including when the answer is that you do not need the product.

These calculators are illustrations, not advice. Every figure they produce comes from assumptions you chose, and small changes to a rate or a period move the answer a great deal. Nothing here is a quote, a guarantee or a recommendation to buy any product. Mutual fund investments are subject to market risks — read all scheme-related documents carefully before investing; past performance does not guarantee future results. Insurance is the subject matter of solicitation, and benefits are governed entirely by the policy document issued by the insurer. Deposit and small-savings rates are set by banks and by the Government of India and change from time to time. We are an AMFI-registered mutual fund distributor (ARN-276664) and a licensed insurance agent — not a SEBI-registered investment adviser, not a lender, and not a tax adviser. Not sure which one you need?

Tell us what you are trying to work out — a school fee eight years away, whether a loan is affordable, how much cover your family needs — and we will point you at the right tool, or simply do the sum with you.

Ready when you are

Ready to act on the number?

We will explain the product behind it in plain language — including how we are paid on it.
